Health Data Collection

To provide personalized health guidance , we need to collect and analyze your health and wellness data. Our goal is to provide you with actionable insights to help you understand your health, so you can make informed decisions.

Our app is designed to be your personal health assistant. To answer your health questions in natural language, assess your risk for chronic lifestyle diseases, and provide tailored health insights, we use the data you provide. This allows us to move beyond generic advice and offer recommendations that are specific to you.

  • Answering Your Questions:To answer questions like "How did my sleep last night affect my workout today?", the app needs to access your sleep and exercise data.
  • Disease Risk & Insights:By analyzing your activity, nutrition, and biometric data together, we can identify patterns and help you understand your potential risk for certain lifestyle diseases.
  • Action Plans & Data Visualization: We use your data to recommend when you might want to consider lab tests and to create detailed charts, helping you track your health trends over time.

The Data We Use

We only collect data that is essential for the app's functionality. This includes:

  • Activity Data: (Steps, exercise, calories burned, heart rate, etc.) helps us understand your activity levels to provide fitness insights.
  • Body Measurements: (Height, Weight, body fat, etc.) are used to calculate key health indicators.
  • Vitals & Lab Reports:(blood pressure, blood glucose, lipid profile, lab report data, etc.) offer a clearer picture of your health status for more in-depth analysis and managing chronic lifestyle diseases.
  • General Wellness Data:(Nutrition, sleep, hydration, etc.) allows us to provide holistic insights into how your lifestyle impacts your overall health.
You are always in control of your health data. We recommend allowing access to all the data types mentioned here but you can choose to limit this access to some specific types. Only the data you allow will be used for analysis.

Third-Party AI Services

This app uses artificial intelligence to provide personalized health insights and answers. The following section explains what data is shared with AI services, who receives it, and how your data is protected.

What Data Is Sent to AI

  • Text prompts: The questions and messages you type into the app are processed by AI models to generate personalized answers.
  • Food-related inputs: When you log food or ask food-related questions, your text input (e.g. food descriptions) is sent to a third-party AI model for nutritional analysis.
  • Sanitization: Before any text is sent to external AI, our internal systems filter out personal identifiers to ensure only anonymized text is shared.

Who Receives Your Data

  • Internal AI models: Most of your queries are processed entirely by our own AI models hosted on our secure infrastructure. No data leaves our servers for these queries.
  • Google Gemini (via OpenRouter): For food-related inputs, your sanitized, anonymized text is sent to Google's Gemini AI model through a routing service called OpenRouter. OpenRouter is an API routing service that securely transmits your request to Google Gemini for processing.

What Is NEVER Shared with External AI

Your personal health data — including lab reports, wearable data, and manual health entries — is never sent to any external AI service. This data is stored securely on our servers and is only shared with your doctors or caregivers if you explicitly grant permission within the app.

Data Protection

  • Zero data retention: External AI providers (OpenRouter and Google Gemini) process your anonymized text in real-time. They do not store, log, or retain your data, nor is your data used to train their AI models.
  • Equal protection: We strictly vet all third-party AI services. We confirm that OpenRouter, Google Gemini, and any other third party with whom we share anonymized data, provides the same or equal protection of user data as stated in this privacy policy. They are bound by strict confidentiality agreements and are not permitted to use your data to identify you.

User Consent and Control

The app explicitly asks for your consent before sharing any data with third-party AI services. This consent is requested during the app's onboarding process and must be accepted before you can use the app's AI-powered features. You can review this Data Policy and our full Privacy Policy at any time from the app's settings menu.

Revoking consent: You can revoke your consent for AI data sharing at any time from the app's Settings menu. If you revoke consent, you will still be able to use the app for viewing your health data, but AI-powered chat features will be disabled until you re-consent.

Third-Party Services and SDKs

In addition to AI services, this app uses the following third-party services provided by Google LLC to operate, improve reliability, and communicate with you:

  • Google Firebase Analytics: Collects anonymized usage data (screen views, feature interactions, app events) to help us understand how users engage with the app and improve the experience. No personal health data is included in analytics.
  • Google Firebase Crashlytics: Collects crash reports, device information, and diagnostic data to help us identify and fix bugs quickly.
  • Google Firebase Cloud Messaging: Used to deliver push notifications to your device. Collects device tokens to route messages to your device.

All Firebase services are provided by Google LLC. Google's data handling practices for Firebase are governed by the Google Cloud Data Processing Terms. We confirm that Google provides the same or equal protection of user data as stated in this privacy policy. For more information, see Google's Privacy Policy.

Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to provide our services and fulfill the purposes described in this policy. Specifically:

  • Text prompts and AI responses: Retained on our servers to provide you with conversation history. Deleted when you delete your account.
  • Health data (lab reports, wearables, manual entries): Retained as long as your account is active. Deleted upon account deletion request.
  • External AI processing: OpenRouter and Google Gemini do not retain any data — all processing is in real-time with zero storage.
  • Account and profile data: Retained as long as your account is active. Deleted upon account deletion request, except where retention is required by law.

To request deletion of your data, use the 78Health Opt-Out Form or contact us at support@78health.com.
